Escea has been designing and building fireplaces in Dunedin, New Zealand, since 2002, and it engineers around one problem: most rooms weren’t built for a fireplace. Its flue can run vertically, horizontally, or under the floor, its zero-clearance rating lets you clad it in wood or drywall, and a TV can sit eight inches above the glass without a chase or a grille. Where Escea fits
The Escea lines we recommend most
NB Series gas
Built-in gas with the No-Duct Heat System: vertical, horizontal, or under-floor venting, and a zero-clearance rating, so the surround can be wood, drywall, or a full media wall. Single-sided or see-through.
NX Series gas
The same install freedom plus ducted heat distribution — send the heat to another room, spread it evenly, or push it outside. Power direct vent, frameless, in two sizes.
EK Series outdoor
An outdoor wood-fired fireplace and a professional grill in one: firebrick-lined base, stainless back plates, cooking plates that slide away under the drawer when dinner is done.
LE and LR electric
Flame-Map technology projects flames onto ceramic logs — no venting, no gas line, and nothing to run to the roof. The LR series does the same with a linear ribbon on black glass.

Can I really put a TV above it?
Yes — Escea’s zero-clearance models take a TV as close as eight inches above the glass, with no chase and no vent grille. We confirm the exact model and clearance for your wall before you order.
I have no chimney. Is that a problem?
No. The flue can run vertically, horizontally, or under the floor, so the fireplace can sit under a window, inside cabinetry, or in the middle of a room. That flexibility is the main reason we carry the line.
Is Escea only electric?
No. In North America the range covers built-in gas (NB and NX series, single-sided and see-through), the EK outdoor wood-fired fireplace and grill, and the LE and LR electric series.
How good is the electric flame, honestly?
Better than anything we’ve seen at this price: holographic projection mapped onto real logs rather than a lit ribbon. It’s still electric — for real heat in a big room, gas or wood wins.
Do you install?
No. Jesse is not a licensed contractor. We lock in the installer’s price before you order and pass you the details; we take no money for the installation.
