About HearthStone Outdoor
Vermont soapstone,
built for the patio
HearthStone has been making soapstone stoves in Vermont for decades; HearthStone Outdoor is the part of the company that took the same materials outside. Griddles in enameled cast iron or stainless, Genio pizza ovens that run on wood or gas over a thick soapstone floor, and fire pits cast with a cooking ring that turns them into a grill. It’s the line we recommend when an outdoor kitchen needs more than a grill. More on planning the whole kitchen: Outdoor Kitchens.
Where HearthStone Outdoor fits
What HearthStone Outdoor makes
Brabura gas griddles
Flat-top gas griddles in 22, 32, and 40 inches, with an enameled cast-iron or stainless cooking surface. Build them in, set them on a counter, or roll them out on a base.
Genio pizza ovens
Wood-fired or multi-fuel, with a thick soapstone floor that holds an even temperature. Gas models are ready to cook in minutes.
Cast iron fire pits
The Cosmo, Meteor, and Zenith. The LoSmoke design feeds air in from below the grate, so the fire burns hot and the smoke stays where it should.
Cooking rings and accessories
The Meteor and Zenith take a cast-iron cooking ring on top — grill or griddle plates, plus soapstone accessories, so the fire pit cooks dinner too.
How we help with a HearthStone Outdoor build
- Sized to how you cook A 22-inch griddle and a 40-inch one are different appliances. We start with how many people you feed.
- Cut-outs to your contractor Exact dimensions before the countertop is ordered — the same rule as for any built-in.
- Fuel decided early Wood-fired or gas, natural gas or propane: it changes the gas run, so it gets decided before the trench.
- Manufacturer warranty HearthStone’s warranty applies to everything we supply.

Good to know
HearthStone Outdoor questions we hear every week
Griddle or grill — which do I want?
A grill chars over grates; a flat-top griddle sears the whole surface, which is what you want for burgers, fish, vegetables, fried rice, and brunch. Most outdoor kitchens we spec end up with both.
Wood-fired or gas pizza oven?
Gas is ready in minutes and holds temperature with a knob. Wood takes longer and rewards you for it. The Genio multi-fuel ovens run on either, and the propane conversion kit is included.
Can these be built into a masonry island?
Yes — griddles and ovens are made for it. Send us the plans and we’ll get the cut-out dimensions to your builder before the countertop is ordered.
Will cast iron survive a Maryland winter?
Yes, with a cover and the usual care for cast iron. These are made in Vermont for that climate.
Do you build the outdoor kitchen?
No. We supply the equipment and plan what goes where; the masonry, countertops, and utility runs stay with your builder or landscaper, and we coordinate with them.
